During the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you will develop your skills as an emergency responder and focus on developing your instructional skills to teach these skills to others.


The Instructor course gives you the additional training needed to teach Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid), Child Care, CPR and AED courses. (Most region-specific workplace courses require additional training.)


Through a multimedia approach to independent study, classroom sessions, and hands-on teaching assignments, you'll learn to take Emergency First Response courses.

Course objectives


The Instructor course covers specific objectives and performance requirements for Primary Care, Secondary Care, Child Care, and CPR and AED courses, along with instructions on how to structure learning, performance-based training requirements, and its role as an instructor in the learning environment.


You also learn how to motivate students, assess student knowledge, present course content effectively, become proficient in developing students' practical skills practice sessions, and learn how to present an effective learning experience based on scenarios.


You will also receive useful information for marketing your EFR business.

Previous requirements


To enter the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you must be 18 years of age and have completed CPR and First Aid training within the last 24 months or be a practicing medical professional such as a physician, EMT, paramedic, or registered nurse.
